Jesus Devotional Bible God

Beautiful Reflection

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

I love this picture!  It makes me think about what my reflection looks like.  Am I reflecting the Father in my thoughts, my words, and my actions?  If not, what needs to change.  How can I better reflect the One who knows me, who sees me, who loves me?  How can I better reflect the work done on the cross for me?

A swan always looks so delicate and perfect to me.  It floats along the water with ease.  It’s not distracted by what others are thinking or the pictures often taken.  It just simply floats along.  Sometimes, I feel like I need to do a little more floating.  I need to rest a little more and relax in all that God is.  I get so worked up and so distracted, that I forget to float.  I forget the elegance of simply being in the Lord’s presence.

So this week, I choose to float.  I choose to grace the waters with a swan like attitude.  I will not be distracted by the storms that come.  I will allow God’s peace to rest securely in my heart.  I will live knowing that God’s peace truly does surpass my understanding.  He’s got great things in store for me and I will rest in this.  I will float on the waters of God’s love and treasure the moments of elegance in His abundant grace!

Dear Father God, I choose to float in your grace this week.  Help me to remember that I am a child of God.  Loved and cherished by the King of Kings.  Please help me to not get distracted by the things of this world.  I pray my heart will be steadfast on You and that I may reflect the glory of my King!

May I Be a Beautiful Reflection of You,

Yes, I love this picture. I’m sure you recognize it from our day together.

I think floating can be tough at times, but man how good it feels to trust in God.
