Free in Christ Jesus God Devotional

Always Faithful

So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free. (John 8:36, AMP)

Do you know why my site is called “God is Always Faithful?”  Well, it’s because I believe He truly is!  And His faithfulness was never more real than on the day He sacrificed His own Son for me.  God couldn’t handle not having a relationship with me.  He didn’t like that sin separated me from His presence.  He wanted me to experience the fullness that life could have.  That’s why He sent Jesus!

He gave me an opportunity to reconnect with Him.  He found it fit to send His one and only Son on my behalf.  He took the sins of the world and placed them on His Son.  Every sin that had been committed and every sin that would be committed.  He took me to court and the jury proclaimed, “Not Guilty.”  I’m not guilty because Jesus died in my place.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

God gave me the greatest gift that could ever be given.  He gave me His Son!  He gave me freedom from the law by sending a perfect sacrifice on my behalf.  He gave me Jesus!  Now what, wbat do I do with this name that is above all names.  How do I show God that I’m grateful for the gift He gave me?

Well, I need to be bold.  I need to share Jesus even when it makes me uncomfortable.  I need to remember that walking into a doctor’s office, a grocery store, a retail store, and any other place serves as an opportunity to share what the Lord has done in my life.  Do I walk in with the right attitude?  Will someone know what Jesus has done for me by the actions that I take?  Will my speech be honoring to the Lord, in such a way that people want to know Him?

“but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence” (1 Peter 3:15, NASB)

Lord, I want to live to glorify You.  I want my steps to honor You.  I want my heart to dwell on the things of You, so that my mouth speaks only what pleases You.  Lord, please continue to work in me.  Help me to daily remember how faithful You are in everything and may I serve You with my life.  Please help me to be ready to give an answer for the hope that I have and to always do it with gentleness and respect!

Staying True to Jesus,
